국문 초록
This study aimed to investigate the perception of third-grade elementary school students
regarding AIDT-powered English listening and speaking classes. For this study,
AIDT-powered English listening and speaking classes were implemented with 120
third-grade elementary school students. Their perceptions were then collected through
an online survey consisting of 12 questions across six domains: interest, participation,
comprehension, confidence, concentration, and preference. Additionally, the correlation
between students’ frequency of smart device use and their perceptions was analyzed,
and open-ended survey responses about the advantages and disadvantages of
AIDT-powered lessons were examined. The results showed that students generally had
positive perceptions of AIDT-powered English classes. Notably, no significant
correlation was found between the frequency of smart device use and students’
perceptions. This suggests that for today’s digitally native students, the frequency of
smart device use may not be a key predictor of their perceptions toward AIDT-based
English learning. However, the main disadvantage was identified as ‘voice recognition
issues and classroom environment constraints,’ along with the relatively lower positive
response rate in the confidence and concentration domains, demonstrated the technical
and educational limitations of the current AIDT and the need for improvement.
