고등학교 ‘음악’ 교과서의 미디어 리터러시 관련 내용 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정에 따라 편찬된 고등학교 ‘음악’ 교과서 11종에서 미디어 리터러시 관련 내용의 반영 현황을 분석하여 학교 음악 수업에서의 미디어 리터러시 교육에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 2022 개정 교육과정에 따라 개발된 ‘학교 교육을 위한 미디어 리터러시 프레임워크’에서 제시한 3개 영역, 10가지 구성 요소를 준거로 하여 음악 교과서를 미디어 유형의 종류 및 빈도 분석, 미디어 리터러시 교육 내용의 반영 양상, 두 가지 측면으로 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 새롭게 편찬된 고등학교 ‘음악’ 교과서들은 미디어 리터러시 관련 내용들이 풍부하게 반영되어 있었다. 둘째, 뉴미디어가 구미디어 자료 유형에 비해 높은 비율로 다양하게 제시되어 있었다. 셋째, ‘생산하기’와 ‘(시민으로) 살아가기’ 영역이 ‘수용하기’ 영역에 비해 부족하게 제시되어 있었다. 결론 음악교과교육 속 미디어 리터러시 교육이 목적에 맞게 적절히 수행되기 위해서는 비판적 판단 능력과 함께, 협력적 소통 역량 등을 함양할 수 있는 영역 및 학습 내용 구성과 관련된 추가적인 연구 및 교수⋅학습 활동에 대한 창의적인 실천이 요구된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study analyzed the current reflections of media literacy-related content in 11 high school ‘music’ textbooks compiled according to the 2022 revised curriculum to extract implications for media literacy education in school music classes. Methods To this end, the study analyzed music textbooks in two ways: by analyzing the types and frequencies of media types and media literacy teaching content, and by reflecting on media literacy teaching content based on the three domains and 10 components of the Media Literacy Framework for School Education, which was developed according to the 2022 revised curriculum. Results First, the new high school “music” textbooks were rich in media literacy content. Second, new media were represented in greater proportion and variety than older media types. Thirdly, the ‘producing’ and ‘living (as a citizen)’ domains were underrepresented compared to the ‘receiving’ domain. Conclusions To ensure that media literacy in music education is fit for purpose, further research and creative practice is needed in teaching and learning activities in areas such as critical judgement and collaborative communication skills, as well as in the organisation of learning content.
