국문 초록

일제강점기에 설립된 기독교조선복음교회는 최태용이 외국 선교부의 도움 없이 설립된 독립 교회로, 순수한 조선인 교회 공동체였다. 최태용은 조선의 기독교는 선교사들이 전해준 것으로, 조선인의 힘으로 이뤄낸 것이 없기 때문 에 조선교회의 신앙은 금세 죽어버렸다고 생각했다. 최태용은 조선 교회의 신앙 부재를 해결할 방법으로 영적 기독교를 정립했 다. 그는 영적 기독교에서 진리의 현재성에 주목했다. 그는 진리가 항상 시대 와 상황에 맞게 사람들이 이해할 수 있는 방법으로 언표되기 때문에 기독교 역시 조선에서는 조선 사람들이 이해할 수 있는 방식으로 정립되어야 한다고 생각했다. 최태용의 주장은 기성 교회로부터 배척받았고, 경남노회에 의해 이단으로 치리되었다. 이로 인해 최태용은 그동안의 문서전도를 내려놓고, 직접 “조선 산의 새 교회”를 설립하기로 했다. 그 결과 1935년 기독교조선복음교회가 설립되었다. 복음교회는 최태용의 전도잡지 『영과 진리 독자들을 배경으로 설립되었다. 그들이 지역에서 이룬 신앙 공동체를 통해 교회로 전환하였다. 백남용을 중심으로 영성 운동이 활발하던 전라북도에 가장 많은 교회와 교인이 분포했 으며, 강원도, 함경도에도 많은 교인이 있었다. 경성복음교회는 중앙사무국이 자, 복음교회의 중심적 위치로 성장하였다. 그밖에도 전남 영암, 경북 예천 등 에도 복음교회가 설립되었다.

영문 초록

The Korea Evangelical Church was established by Choi Tae-young during the Japanese colonial period and was established without the help of foreign missionaries. Choi Tae-yong thought that Christianity in Joseon was conveyed by missionaries. Therefore, he thought that he had never achieved it with the power of Koreans, and that the faith of the Joseon Church had soon died. Choi Tae-yong established “spiritual Christianity” as a way to solve the absence of the faith of the Joseon Church. He noted the present nature of truth in “spiritual Christianity”. Truth is always expressed in a way that people can understand according to the times and situations. Therefore, Christianity also thought that in Joseon, it should be established in a way that the people of Joseon can understand. Choi Tae-yong's argument was rejected from the established church and treated as heresy by the Gyeongnam Presbytery. As a result, Choi Tae-young decided to give up his previous missionary work and establish a “new church from Joseon.” As a result, the Christian Joseon Evangelical Church was established in 1935. The Evangelical Church was established against the backdrop of readers of Choi Tae-yong's missionary magazine “Spirit and Truth.” The community of faith they created turned into a church. The largest number of churches and believers were distributed in Jeollabuk-do, where the “spirituality movement” was active around Baek Nam-yong. There were also many believers in Gangwon-do and Hamgyong-do. The Gyeongseong Evangelical Church was the central secretariat and grew into the central location of the Evangelical Church. In addition, evangelical churches were established in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, and Yecheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
