국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 특수교사의 번영과 소진 간의 관계에서 교사-학생 관계에 대한 교사효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구는 임의표집에 의해 표집된 특수교사 157명을 연구대상으로 하였고, 연구의 목적을 달성하고자 단순매개모형 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특수교사의 번영이 소진에 미치는 직접효과는 부적으로 유의한 관계를 보였다. 이는 특수교사가 번영한 상태에 있을수록 소진을 적게 경험한다는 것을 보여준다. 둘째, 교사-학생 관계에 대한 교사효능감이 번영과 소진 간의 관계를 매개하는 효과는 유의하였다. 이는 특수교사가 번영한 상태에 있을수록 교사-학생 관계에 대한 교사효능감이 높고, 이는 다시 소진을 적게 경험한다는 것을 보여주었다. 본 연구의 결과들은 특수교사의 번영을 촉진할 수 있는 지원을 제공하거나, 당장의 번영의 향상이 어려울 경우 특수교사가 학생과 관계를 잘 형성할 수 있다는 자신감을 강화하는데 초점을 둔 프로그램을 시행하는 것이 소진을 완화하는 데 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the mediating effect of teacher efficacy in teacher-student relationships on the relationship between special education teachers’ thriving and burnout. To achieve this objective, data were collected from 157 special education teachers working in early childhood (kindergarten), elementary, and secondary schools. A simple mediation model were employed to achieve the objective of the study. The main findings were as follows. First, the direct effect of thriving on burnout was significantly negative, indicating that special education teachers who experience greater flourishing tend to report lower levels of burnout. Second, the mediating effect of teacher efficacy for teacher-student relationships on the relationship between thriving and burnout was found to be significant. This suggests that higher levels of thriving are associated with greater teacher efficacy in teacher-student relationships, which in turn reduces burnout. These results imply that providing support to enhance the thriving of special education teachers or when that is not immediately feasible, implementing programs aimed at strengthening their confidence in building positive relationships with students may help alleviate burnout.
