국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생 데이터 리터러시의 성차가 존재하는지를 검증하고, 이를 예측하는 개인 변인과 수업 변인이 성차에 따라 어떻게 달라지는지 탐색하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 초등학교 5, 6학년 241명을 대상으로 자기보고식 설문을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 개인 변인으로는 자기효능감, 내재가치, 유용가치를, 수업 변인으로는 전달식 수업과 구성주의 수업을 포함하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 데이터 리터러시의 하위 요인인 수리, 사고, 생활 리터러시 모두에서 성차가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 데이터 리터러시를 예측하는 개인 변인을 확인한 결과 여학생의 경우에는 자기효능감이 유의미한 예측력을 지녔으며, 남학생의 경우에는 유용가치가 유의미한 예측력을 지니는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자기효능감과 유용가치가 데이터 리터러시에 미치는 영향은 성별이 조절하였다. 셋째, 데이터 리터러시를 예측하는 수업 변인을 확인한 결과 전달식 수업만이 유의미한 예측력을 지녔으며 이는 성차와 상관없이 동일하게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 데이터 리터러시의 중요성이 점차 증가하는 교육 현장에 이를 증진하기 위한 교육적 개입에 대한 객관적 연구 자료를 제공한다.

영문 초록

The present study sought to examine gender differences in data literacy of elementary school students and to identify the individual and instructional variables that predict data literacy. Data were collected through self-report surveys from 241 fifth and sixth graders at elementary schools, including self-efficacy, intrinsic value, and utility value as individual variables and didactic and constructivist teaching as instructional variables. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to assess the effects of individual and instructional variables on data literacy in male and female students, with the following key findings: First, no gender differences were observed in data literacy. Second, self-efficacy emerged as a significant predictor of data literacy for female students, while utility value was significant for male students. Additionally, the relationships between self-efficacy and data literacy and between utility value and data literacy were moderated by gender. Last, didactic teaching proved to be a significant instructional variable for both genders. As the significance of data literacy continues to grow within the educational sphere, these findings offer essential research data to support educational strategies aimed at enhancing data literacy.
