국문 초록

Background/Objectives: The purpose of this study was to comprehensively investigate and analyze the perceived level of change in housing situation, satisfaction, and facility and service needs of residents of Housing Welfare Buildings in Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do compared to before moving to the Housing Welfare Buildings in order to suggest implications to improve the effectiveness of the Housing Welfare Building. Methods: From April to May 2023, a survey using a structured survey instrument was conducted and 61 valid responses were collected. The collected data were statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics and a series of paired sample t-tests. Results: (1) When compared with housing situation before moving, it was found that the residents perceived the changes in housing conditions, complex satisfaction, and life satisfaction as the most positive, while the satisfaction with neighborhood relations tended to be perceived as a negative change. (2) Based on the level of use, satisfaction, and perceived importance of the facilities in the complex, as well as the demand for additional services or facilities, free meal services was found to be one of the most important services. (3) There is an urgent need to develop and implement multifamily living education and management services and neighborhood exchange programs that can improve neighborhood relations. Conclusion/Implications: In order to meet residents’ needs, it is important to continue to provide free meal services and to expand the services. Also, it will be advantageous in terms of space utilization and service delivery efficiency if common spaces in Housing Welfare Buildings are planned to be flexible and not restricted to specific uses, and residents’ needs for facilities and services are periodically surveyed and reflected.
