국문 초록

This study compares the transitivity systems between Korean (SL) science fiction (SF) novels and their translations in Chinese (TL). Regardless of the six types of ‘processes’, the SL objectifies and describes a situation that occurs, as if observing a ‘scene’, without highlighting the subject and action. In contrast, the TL explicitly states that a situation occurs through the subject’s action. The SL’s characteristic of recognizing an ‘event’ as an ‘object’ is prominent in sentences belonging to the ‘relational process’. In the corresponding TL, regardless of the predicate in the SL belonging to the ’relational process’ or the head noun in ‘attribute’, the corresponding word of the predicate included in the modifier becomes the primary ‘process’.
