생명존중의식에 기반을 둔 생명이해 교육프로그램이 초등학생의 정서지능에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 생명존중의식에 기반을 둔 생명이해 교육프로그램이 초등학생의 정서지능에 어떠한영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 생명이해교육 및 정서지능에 관한 선행연구고찰을 통하여 생명이해 교육프로그램을 개발하고, 학습 현장에 적용하였다. 그 효과를 검증하기위한 검사지는 황은영(2005)이 제작한 정서지능 검사지를 학년 수준에 맞게 재구성하여 사용하였으며, 연구과정에서 얻어진 정량적 자료는 i-STATistics 프로그램을 사용하여 결과를 처리하였고,정성적 분석은 연구자의 관찰 및 면담과 학생들의 포트폴리오 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2007 개정교육과정에서 생명과 관련된 단원을 분석하여 나를 비롯한 모든 인간과 동․식물의 생명의 소중함을 이해하며 직접 알아보고 표현하는 여러 활동을 내용으로 하여 정서지능 함양에 적합한 교수·학습모형 및 교수·학습안을 구안하였다. 둘째, 생명존중의식에 바탕을 둔 생명이해 교육프로그램의 적용은 초등학생의 정서지능 함양에긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그리고 정서지능의 하위영역간 정적인 상관관계(Pearson Correlation,0.4-0.7)가 있음을 확인하였다. 셋째, 정성적 분석 결과, 개발된 프로그램을 진행하는 동안 학생들은 생명에 대한 관심과 생명에 대한 올바른 이해를 갖게 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 생명존중의식에 바탕을 둔 생명이해 교육프로그램은 초등학교 현장에 적용가능하며, 4학년 학생들의 정서지능 함양에 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 프로그램의 개선을 위한 보다 심층적인 연구와 체계적인 교수․학습 활동에 관한 후속 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of life comprehension education based on life respect consciousness on the emotional intelligence of 4th graders in an elementary school in Seoul. A reconstructed questionnaire through Hwang(2005)`s test tool was used to the effects of applying a life comprehension program. The i-STATistics program was used to analyze the results. The major results of this study are as follows:First, the researcher was able to develop and apply a professor-learning model for the life comprehension education based on life respect consciousness by extracting and recreating life-related contents from 4th grader curriculum. Second, this program had a positive effect on elementary student`s emotional intelligence and positive correlation(from 0.4 to 0.7) among the low domains of the emotional intelligence. Third, according to qualitative results, students appear to be more concerned on the life, and have a right understanding on life. In conclusions, the life comprehension program based on life respect consciousness has a positive effect on emotional intelligence cultivation of 4th graders. It is demanded that the further in-depth research on this study should be conducted, linking teaching and learning methods as follow-up activity.
