영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the vocabularies in literary works focused on Geoffrey Chaucer for Korean-English interpretation and translation. In this study, Geoffrey Chaucer, who is considered to be a talented writer, gave readers the pleasure of reading by introducing various lexical expressions of the English language, and thanks to this, his vocabulary was introduced through parts of his works that showed the skill of making people immerse themselves in the work. We would like to analyze the form of use. Among various writers, the reason for analyzing the works of Geoffrey Chaucer is the realistic characters that appear in his works, people of various levels of social status, characters that may be vulgar in some ways, and very rough, yet delicate and cynical vocabulary. It can be said that it was captured so that it melts into the work. This study examines Chaucer's vocabulary selection in the works of Geoffrey Chaucer, who dominated an era, and analyzes the diversity of lexical forms and vocabulary selection in his works, making it easier to understand the creation and history of English vocabulary. It is expected that the significance of this study will be fully discovered in that it provides a foundation for understanding.
