국문 초록

키에르케고어는 보통 고독한 개인적인 자유를 주창한 실존철학의 아버지로 알려져 있다. 이로 인해 그가 평생에 걸쳐 그리스도교 국가라는 기성 체제를 공격한 내용은 소홀히 다뤄져 왔다. 하지만 그는 자신이 글을 쓰는 목표가 신약성서의 그리스도교는 제도화된 그리스도교 국가(Christendom)와 완전히 다르다는 점을 밝히는 거라고 술회한다. 공인된 국가 교회(State Church)에 대한 그의 비판은 마르크스와 니체를 합친 것보다 더 과격하다. 그리스도교 국가 공격이야말로 그의 모든 저작과 삶을 관통하는 주제라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 간접 전달로 유명한 키에르케고어가 자기 나라 전체 체제에 대항하여 격렬하고도 직접적인 공격을 펼쳤기에 후대 연구인들은 이것을 일당백의 혁명, 일기당천의 전쟁이라 부른다. 그는 일평생 참된 그리스도인이 되고자 애썼다. 그러나 자기가 살아가는 그리스도교 국가에는 ‘신약성서의 그리스도교는 없다’고 폭탄선언을 한다. 왜 그랬을까? 그 많은 저작들의 집필 의도는 뭘까? 이 글은 그 답을 그리스도교 국가 공격에서 찾아보려고 한다.

영문 초록

Kierkegaard is commonly known as the father of existential philosophy who advocated solitary personal freedom. Because of this, his lifelong attack on the established system of the Christian state has been neglected. However, he states that his goal in writing is to show that New Testament Christianity is completely different from institutionalized Christendom. His critique of the authorized State Church is more radical than Marx and Nietzsche put together. It is no exaggeration to say that the attack on the Christian state is a theme that runs through all of his writings and life. Because Kierkegaard, who is famous for his indirect transmission, launched a fierce and direct attack against the entire system of his country, later researchers call it one-man revolution or one man war. Through all of his life he tried to be a true Christian. However, he made a bombshell declaration that in the Christian country where he lived, ‘there is no New Testament Christianity’. Why? What is the purpose of writing so many works? This article tries to find the answer in the attack upon Christendom.
