This study attempted to analyze the aspects that coffee has developed while leading or accepting changes in each field of our society, despite being a heterogeneous product introduced from abroad. From the perspective of wishing to contribute to the continuous development of the coffee industry in Korean society, the changes in coffee culture were analyzed from the perspectives of political, economic, cultural, dining out and tourism. In particular, the analysis was conducted in the hopes that the domestic coffee industry will expand into various fields as it enters its maturity period. In addition, we sought a new turning point in hopes that coffee will become an axis of change in our society. To this end, the changes in the overall coffee culture were categorized in depth, and the related literature was analyzed and considered.
As a result, it was analyzed that coffee is gaining popularity as an urban regeneration model without disappearing in the midst of the waves of change that have been going through for a long time in Korean society. It also revealed that it is gaining attention as an urban tourism model for revitalizing the local economy in underdeveloped regions. In particular, this study analyzed the changing patterns of the overall coffee culture adapting to the tourism industry and food service industry linked to the coffee festival and activation of cafe streets. Now is the time for marketing experts in the coffee industry to take into account the fact that the cafe, the mysterious nickname of the third space, has now become an indispensable cultural space in the lives of Koreans.
