영문 초록
In order to derive the hormone intermediate biosynthesis from water miscible phytosterol as a substrate, two-stage fermentation was carried out. The first stage was for the oxidation and decomposition of the phytosterol side chain using Rhodococcus sp. and second stage fermentation was for the hormone intermediate biosynthesis using Mycobacterium sp.
As a result, the two-stage batch fermentation showed 84mole% of a production yield, and 11.4g/L of maximum production respectively. On the other hand two-stage fed-batch fermentation, by intermittent fed of glucose, showed 85mole%, and 15g/L. This result is an increase of about 2.4 times greater than 35mole% of production yield of the two step process, including attempted others. So the present two-stage fermentation process would expect positive results for the production of steroid intermediates.
