The influence of adolescents smartphone dependence on friendship: mediating effects of emotional problem

국문 초록

최근에는 청소년의 스마트폰 사용이 현저하게 증가하고 스마트폰 과의존과 중독적 사용이 문제가 되고 있다. 스마트폰 이용에 대한 조절력이 감소함으로써 문제적 결과를경험하게 되는 상태를 스마트폰 과의존이다. 본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 스마트폰의존이 청소년의 친구관계에 미치는 영향에서 정서적 문제의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국아동청소년 패널조사(KCYPS 2018)를 활용하였다. 중학교1학년 코호트 자료를 사용하였으며, 연구대상은 총 2,590명이다. 자료분석을 위해 SPSS 24.0과 AMOS 25.0을 활용하여 Pearson 상관분석, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the mediating effect of emotional problems in the effect of smartphone dependence on adolescents friend relations in middle school students. The data from the first-year middle school cohort data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS 2018) provided by the Korea Youth Policy Institute were used, and a total of 2,590 subjects were studied. The results of this study are as follows. First, adolescents dependence on smartphones, emotional problems, and friendships are correlated. Second, as teenagers dependence on smartphones increases, emotional problems also increase. It can be seen that adolescents emotional problems negatively affect their friendship. Third, emotional problems partially mediate the influence of adolescents dependence on smartphones on friendship. It can be seen that when adolescents rely on smartphones, they negatively affect their friendships, rather than when adolescents who rely on smartphones experience emotional problems, they have a negative effect on friendships. This suggests that adolescents should consider intervening on emotional problems in counseling and program development and intervention on smartphone dependence and friendship.
