영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify key problems of university library space and furniture design based on user satisfaction and preferences. The research method was a questionnaire survey given to library users. Major findings from the survey are as follows. First, the university library needs to provide spaces for personal study as well as multi-use rooms for team projects, cultural activities, multimedia experiences, and job application support, etc. Second, the library should be furnished with personal storage lockers and offer laptop charging stations to better support users’ needs. The learning space should be designed with new and ergonomic furniture. The shared space needs to add more furniture to the existing items, including flexible and modular types of furniture for users’ easy access and comfort. Third, the library space and furniture should support multi-use and flexibility for both the learning space and shared space. Partitions and booths can be used in the learning space to provide users with privacy.
