국문 초록

기독교 역사를 통해 박해시대에 기독교인들은 다양한 방법으로 박해에 대응했다. 그들의 반응은 저항, 순교, 도피, 순례, 은둔, 순응, 그리고 배교나 변절 등이다. 성서는 이러한 반응들을 담고 있다. 예수의 십자가 사건의 순간에도 그의 제자들은 자신들의 정체성을 부인하고 사방으로 도망했다. 교회가 순교자의 피 위에 건설되었다고는 하지만, 박해시대의 기독교 선교는 역설적으로 박해로부터 도망친 자들에 의해 수행되었다. 그러므로 이 논문은 성서 속에서 특정한 선교유형을 발견하려는 것이며, 그러한 성서적 근거로부터 일본 식민지 하에 있던 한국의 기독교인의 반응들을 살펴보려는 것이다. 신사참배가 모든 한국인들에게 강요되었을 때, 한국 기독교인들 또한 다양한 방법으로 반응했다. 몇몇은 일제의 강요에 저항했으며, 그들 중 몇몇은 자신들의 신앙 때문에 순교를 했다. 소수의 우리는 국외로 망명을 했지만, 대부분의 기독교인들은 일제의 압력에 굴복하여 신사참배에 참여했다. 이 논문은 선교신학적 관점에서 그들의 반응을 해석하고 박해시대의 특정한 선교유형을 찾아보려는 것이다.

영문 초록

In the period of persecution throughout the christian history, christians have reacted to the persecution in the various ways: resistance, martyrdom, flight, pilgrimage, seclusion, accommodation, and apostasy or perversion etc. We can read these reactions from the Bible. Even at the moment of the Crucifixion of Jesus, his disciples denied their own identities and flied in all direction. Although it is said that the church has been founded upon the blood of martyrs, christian mission in the period of persecution was paradoxically carried out by those who fled from the persecutor. Therefore this is to find out certain patterns of mission in the Bible, and by this to look into the christian reactions of Korea under the Japanese colonialism. When the Shinto shrine rite was forced to all Koreans, Korean christians also have reacted in the various ways. Some resisted to the Japanese forcible demand, and few among them died a martyr for their belief. Some took flight to the outside country, but most of christians yielded under Japanese pressure and participated in the Shinto Shrine rite. This is to interpret their reactions in the missiological perspective and to find out certain patterns of mission in the period of persecution.
