This study investigated entrepreneurial intention elements for those who currently plan or have the potential to start a cosmetology service business to determine the effects of entrepreneurship and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intention, focusing on the moderating effects of social media activities. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted among the managers or service providers in the cosmetology service business. A total of 209 copies were collected and the data were analyzed using SPSS ver.24 and AMOS ver.24. The results found the following: In entrepreneurship, ‘innovation’ and ‘proactiveness’ only had a significant effect on self-efficacy while ‘risk-taking’ showed no statistically significant influence. In addition, ‘risk-taking’ only had a direct effect on entrepreneurial intention with statistical significance while self-efficacy showed no significant influence on entrepreneurial intention. In the moderating effects of social media activities, ‘risk-taking’ showed a statistically significant effect on entrepreneurial intention.
The results found that for successful business startup, it is important to have high risk-taking entrepreneurship
to overcome obstacles such as economic slowdowns and minimum wage hikes. This study is meaningful
because it can confirm that dynamic social media activities are a preparation for business startup.
