This study is aimed to investigate the realities, the consciousness and job satisfaction of hotel cuisine employees to be occupied with the special grade of tourist hotels in Seoul. 300 questionnaires were collected from June 12, 1999 to July 20, 1999, but 214 questionnaires were usable. The survey results are as follows; (1) the main sub item of the factor, discontent with their post was the wages at the rate of 50.2%; (2) in the area of rate of turnover, that of males were higher than that of females and the older, the higher' (3) rate of consistency of their certificates of qualification with their job was 81.1% and that of inconsistency was 16.4%; and (4) causes of the discontent with their post, rate of turnover and rate of consistency of their certificates of qualification with their job were all significant with respect to the job satisfaction.
