영문 초록

This article contains general information about marriage culture in Russia from the early stage of its formation to changes in modern times. The emphasis of this work is on wedding ceremony in traditional agricultural community of Russia in 19 c. All the processes of marriage and structure of ceremony are illustrated in details : proper period of marriage, choice of counterpart by parents, acts of matchmakers, taboo, wedding ceremony itself as well as rituals and custom before and after marriage. In addition to formal aspects, article seeks to draw marriage in context of Russian culture. Attention is paid to formation and changes of marriage. Historically, beliefs , economical and cultural conditions have influenced on marriage culture. The root of marriage is observed in primitive community of Slavic tribes in 6-7 centuries. Specifics of agricultural community and orthodox church were the important elements for formation of traditional marriage culture which can be found nowadays. The introduction of western civilization from the 18 c., industrialization and political ideology played an important role in changing view on marriage. In this way, article shows that meaning and role of marriage, structure and details of wedding ceremony has been changed according to socio-cultural context.
