영문 초록

The fish fauna of southern coastal waters of Jeju-do, Korea, was investigated from July 1996 to September 2000. Specimens collected from two localities were identified into 140 species belonging to 100 genera and 60 families. Among them, the largest group was order Perciformes, comprising 91 species and 34 families, and representing 64.6% of the total number of species. Synodus hoshinonis is redescribed and figured as the first record of the specie from Korea. A key to the species to the family Scynodontidae from Korea is proposed.
