국문 초록

본 연구는 대규모 성취도 평가연구의 성공적인 예로 진행되고 있는 TIMSS의 평가 틀과 연구 질 관리 과정을 분석하여, 우리 나라 대규모 평가 연구에 줄 수 있는 시사점을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 TIMSS 평가 틀의 구성 요소들인 연구목적과 모형, 연구 설계, 평가도구 제작, 평가대상선정 및 시기 결정, 자료분석 과정을 살펴, 평가의 목적과 모형에 따라 평가 연구가 진행되는 과정을 고찰하였다. 또한 TIMSS 연구 질 관리 내용으로 각종 지침서의 종류, 시행과정과 채점기준표의 특징과 과정을 상술하고, 자료 입력 및 검토의 특징을 살펴 우리나라 대규모 성취도 평가 연구에 줄 수 있는 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide meaningful suggestions for large-scale assessment of students' achievement in Korea by analyzing assessment frameworks and quality control procedures of IEA/ TIMSS which is the well-known large-scale international comparative study since 1959. Assessment frameworks for TIMSS consists of the purpose of the study and conceptual model for the study, design of the study, construction of instruments, defining target population, and administrating time. This study describes how the purpose of the study and the conceptual model in the assessment frameworks lead the following procedures of the large-scale assessment. Also, this study investigates the requisites of the quality control procedures for TIMSS, which are the general operations manual of TIMSS and the manuals for each step, such as sampling school, administration in school, scoring free-response items, data entering and then provides essential information on the large-scale assessment in Korea.
