Objective: This study comparesthe effects of robot-assisted gait training with plantar pressure-based biofeedback (RAGT-PBF)and conventional gait training (CGT) onspatiotemporal gait parameters in subacute stroke patients. Design: Retrospective studyMethods: We obtained and analyzed the records of subacute stroke patients who underwent either RAGT-PBF or CGT betweenJanuary and December 2024 and had their spatiotemporal gait parameters assessed using a gait analyzer. Sixty-seven patients wereincluded and assigned to either the RAGT-PBF group (n=35) or the control group (n=32). Each group received twenty 30-minutetraining sessions consisting of either RAGT-PBF or CGT, and participated in general physical therapy for 30 min per sessionduring the same period. To comparatively investigate the effects of each training regimen, temporal gait parameters weremeasured, including gait velocity, stride time, double-stance phase ratio, and temporal gait symmetry index. Spatial gaitparameters were measured using foot rotation on the paretic side, stride length, step width, and the spatial gait symmetry index. Results: In the within-group comparison, the RAGT-PBF group revealed significant improvements in gait velocity, double-stancephase ratio, stride length, and spatial gait symmetry index (p<0.05). The control group also showed significant improvements ingait velocity, stride length, and spatial gait symmetry index (p<0.05). Furthermore, between-group comparisons, the RAGT-PBFgroup demonstrated significantly greater enhancement in gait velocity, stride length, and spatial gait symmetry index than thecontrol group (p<0.05). Conclusions: Our results suggest that RAGT-PBF combined with general physical therapy can effectively improvespatiotemporalgait abilities in subacute stroke patients.
