시각장애 성인의 생활체육 비실행 실태 및 참여를 위한 요구 분석

국문 초록

연구 목적: 이 연구는 성인기 시각장애인의 생활체육 비실행 실태와 요구를 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 연구를 위해 「2023 장애인 생활체육조사」의 원자료에서 최근 1년간 운동한 경험이 없다고 응답한 시각장애 성인 594명의 자료를 추출하여 2차 분석하였다. 연구 결과: 첫째, 최근 1년간 운동에 참여하지 않은 시각장애 성인은 주로 ‘운동하고 싶은 마음이 없어서’(31.5%), ‘운동할 시간이 부족해서’(23.1%) 운동하지 않았고, 266명(44.8%)은 향후 운동할 생각이 전혀 없다고 응답했다. 둘째, 생활체육 관련 정보를 접해본 경험이 있다는 응답은 18.9%에 불과했고, 이들 중 절반에 가까운 48.2%는 ‘TV/라디오 등의 매체 광고’를 통해 정보를 접했으며, 45.5%는 생활체육 관련 정보가 약간 도움이 되었다고 응답했다. 셋째, 향후 운동에 참여한다면 등산로나 공원 등 근처 야외를 걷거나 산책하는 방식을 선호한다는 응답이 50.3%를 차지했고, 생활체육 관련 정보를 습득하기 위한 매체로 ‘TV/라디오 등의 매체 광고’를 희망한다는 응답이 52.5%로 절반 이상을 차지했으며, 필요한 체육 정보로는 ‘장애인체육 지원 제도’(39.2%), ‘장애인체육 프로그램’(23.7%), ‘운동시설 관련 정보’(23.1%) 등을 요구하는 목소리가 높았다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 생활체육에 참여한 경험이 없는 시각장애 성인의 생활체육 참여 유입 및 활성화를 위한 실천적·정책적 과제를 몇 가지 제언하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aims to examine the current status and needs of adults with visual impairments who do not engage in physical activity. Research Method: For this study, a secondary analysis was conducted using data extracted from the raw data of the 2023 Disabled Physical Activity Survey, focusing on 594 adults with visual impairments who reported having no exercise experience in the past year. Results:First, the primary reasons for not engaging in exercise among adults with visual impairments over the past year were ‘lack of motivation to exercise’ (31.5%) and ‘lack of time to exercise’ (23.1%). Additionally, 266 individuals (44.8%) responded that they had no intention of exercising in the future.Second, only 18.9% of respondents reported having encountered information related to physical activity. Among them, nearly half (48.2%) obtained this information through ‘TV/radio media advertisements,’ and 45.5% stated that physical activity-related information was somewhat helpful.Third, when asked about preferred methods of exercise if they were to participate in the future, 50.3% preferred walking or strolling in nearby outdoor locations such as hiking trails or parks. Additionally, the majority (52.5%) preferred to receive information about physical activity through ‘TV/radio media advertisements.’ The most needed types of physical activity-related information included ‘support policies for disabled sports’ (39.2%), ‘disabled sports programs’ (23.7%), and ‘information on sports facilities’ (23.1%). Based on these findings, several practical and policy recommendations were proposed to encourage and promote the participation of adults with visual impairments in physical activity.
