국문 초록

Camouflage treatment has emerged as a viable option for patients exhibiting mild Class III malocclusion or those who are reluctant to undergo orthognathic surgery due to its associated risks and costs. The advent of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) has further expanded the scope of non-surgical orthodontic treatment, enabling their application even in cases of skeletal discrepancies. A 16-year-old male patient presented at the clinic with the chief complaint of an edge-to-edge bite. He had severe Class III molar relationship, and the maxillary second molars were unerupted. During the early stages of treatment, Class III elastics were utilized on the maxillary first molar connected to a palatal skeletal anchorage in order to establish a stable anterior occlusion with adequate overjet and overbite. In the treatment of skeletal Class III malocclusions, the employment of a suitable treatment strategy is imperative to circumvent the occurrence of unwanted consequences, such as the occurrence of unwanted round-tripping, and to ensure that the duration of treatment is optimised.
