국문 초록

For normal function and esthetics of dentoalveolar segments in cleft patients, alveolar bone grafting is usually performed prior to the eruption of permanent maxillary canine. However, alveolar cleft bone graft is still a challenging procedure, which requires advanced surgical skills and a three-dimensional understanding of the pathological veolar anatomy. In particular, achieving a water-tight closure of the mucoperiosteal flaps is essential to prevent wound dehiscence and subsequent bone graft loss. This report presents a technique for alveolar cleft bone grafting that utilizes the Scarpa fascia to reinforce and to seal the mucoperiosteal pocket within the cleft alveolus.
