국문 초록

본 연구는 한국 박물관 교육의 변천 과정과 그 특징에 대한 이해를 넓히고 박물관 교육 연구의 미래 방향성을 모색하고자, 한국박물관협회의 국제학술대회 발표 자료와 한국박물관교육학회 학회지의 학술 논문 중 박물관 교육과 관련된 연구동향을 체계적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2007년도부터 2023년도까지의 박물관 교육 관련 연구를 검토하였다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 연구시기, 문헌유형, 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구자 배경을 분석 기준으로 하위 요소를 범주화하여 연구 동향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 학술논문과 사례연구가 주된 문헌유형이었으며, 사례와 교육개발을 주제로 한 연구가 대부분이었다. 연구 방법으로는 질적연구와 문헌연구가 절대 다수였으며, 교육대상은 어린이를 중심으로 한 연구가 많았다. 연구자의 배경은 국공립박물관과 대학이 비슷한 비율로 많은 부분을 차지하였다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 연구자들은 다음 세 가지 논의 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 그동안 축적해 온 사례연구의 특성과 경향을 분석해 한국 박물관 교육 연구의 독자적인 이론적 기틀을 마련해야 한다. 둘째, 박물관 교육 연구에 참여하는 연구 대상과 연구를 수행하는 연구자 배경의 다양성이 확보되어야 한다. 셋째, 한국박물관교육학회의 학술지인 ‘박물관 교육 연구’의 등재지 추진을 가속화해야 한다.

영문 초록

This study systematically analyzed the research trends related to museum education among the presentations of international academic conferences of the Korean Museum Association and academic papers of the Korean Museum Education Association to expand understanding of the transition process and characteristics of Korean museum education and explore the future direction of museum education research. To this end, research related to museum education from 2007 to 2023 was reviewed. Based on previous studies, research trends were examined by categorizing sub-elements based on analysis criteria such as research period, literature type, research topic, research subject, research method, and researcher background. As a result, academic papers and case studies were the main types of literature, and most of the studies were on cases and educational development. Qualitative and literature studies were the absolute majority of research methods, and there were many studies focusing on children as subjects of education. The background of the researcher was largely occupied by national and public museums and universities at similar rates. Based on the analysis results, the researchers derived the following three discussion results. First, it is necessary to establish an independent theoretical foundation for Korean museum education research by analyzing the characteristics and trends of case studies that have been accumulated so far. Second, the diversity of research subjects participating in museum education research and the background of researchers conducting the research must be secured. Third, it is necessary to accelerate the promotion of the registration site of 'Museum Education Research', an academic journal of the Korean Museum Education Association.
