영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of school violence on Korean high school students ego-identity. The subjects of this study were 158 high school students from 4 different high schools in Seoul. The Dignan s Ego-Identity Scale adapted by Seo, Bong-Yeon was used to assess ego-identity. It is composed of stability, goal-directeness, uniqueness, interpersonal role expectation, self-acceptance, self-assertiveness, sense of self, and interpersonal relationship. The results indicated that school violence is closely related to the youth s ego-identity. It appeared valid to conclude that those who have experienced school violence (both perpetration and victimization) tend to be in the less advanced identity statuses.
