국문 초록

본 연구는 고등학교 지적장애 학생의 직업준비 교육에 대한 중요도와 실행도를 살펴보기 위하여, 고등학교 특수학급 및 특수학교 교사를 대상으로 총 132부의 설문지를 수합하여 조사연구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 특수교사는 직업준비 교육을 매우 중요하게 생각하고 있었으며, 직업준비 교육도 실제 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 특수교사는 직업준비 교육을 매우 중요하게 생각하면서도 실제로 가르칠 때는 중요도 보다 낮은 수준으로 실행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 특수교사의 경력에 따른 직업준비 교육의 중요도 인식과 실행도에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었으며, 특수학급 교사가 특수학교 교사보다 직업준비 교육을 중요하게생각하고 있었고, 실행도에서는 차이가 없었다. 또한, 직업교육 전공여부에 따른 직업준비 교육의 중요도 인식과 실행도에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었으며, 직업교육 연수를 이수한 교사는 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 직업준비 교육을 중요하게 생각하였으나, 실행도에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 후속연구에서는 특수교사가 지적장애 학생을 위한 직업준비 교육에 대해 인식하는중요도와 실행도 수준 간에 차이가 발생하는 이유를 파악하기 위해 직업준비교육을 실행하면서겪는 경험에 대한 질적접근이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study examined the importance and performance levels of the vocational preparatory education(VPE) for high school students with intellectual disabilities. The study implemented the survey research with 132 questionnaires from the teachers of special classes in high schools and special schools. The results of the study were as follows. First, special education teachers thought the VPE for the students with intellectual disabilities very seriously, and the VPE was carried practically. Second, they taught the VPE for the students with intellectual disabilities lower than the importance level which they considered. Third, according to the career of the special education teachers, there was no significant difference in the importance and performance of the VPE. And special class teachers thought job preparation training more important than special school teachers, and there was no difference between them in performance levels. In addition, there was no significant difference in the importance and the performance of the VPE between the teachers who majored in vacational education and the teachers who didn’t. The teachers who have completed vocational education training considered the VPE for intellectual disabilities more important than the teachers who haven’t. However, there was no significant difference in the performance levels. In further researches, qualitative approaches to the experience gained while performing the VPE for students with intellectual disability would be required. From those studies, special education teachers would be able to understand why there are some differences between the perception of the importance and the performance levels of the VPE.
