영문 초록

Kwan-Lae had been a kind of ceremony celebrating "coming-of-age" in the Yi dynasty. It had been held in the royal family for the children around the age of 10, and in the ordinary family for the teenagers between 15 and 20. In the late years of Yi dynasty, it had been held for the younger children because the age of getting married became younger than before. The host called "Bin" untied the hair of the child, tied his hair into "Sang Too" and changed the costume three times differently. That was why it was called "Sam Ka Lee" which means three costume ceremony. The main reason of changing three different costume was to raise the authorites of their costume. In the ceremony of Prince, the first costume called "Cho Ga" had consusted of IK Sun KwanㆍKolyeong-Pom the second had been Won Yoo KwanㆍKang Sa Po and the third of Myulyoo KwanㆍKon Bok. The costume could not been defined in one particular style in the case of children of noble birth(ordinary family), since there had been so many different style. In general it had been worn in the order of old-aged costume, casual costume and the formal dressing, otherwise in the order of Lipzza, Samo, Bokdoo which was arranged by their ascending degree of importance. In the late years, it was changed into one costume which were Lipzza and Dopo.
