국문 초록

본 연구는 급속한 고령화사회 속에서 노인의 경제적 배제가 성공적 노화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명하고, 이에 대한 실질적 대응 방안을 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구의 필요성은 고령화가 단순히 인구학적 변화에 그치지 않고, 경제·사회·심리·건강 영역 전반에 걸쳐 새로운 도전을 제기한다는 점에서 출발하였다. 특히, 경제적 배제는 소득 결핍, 노동 기회 부족, 주거 불안정 등으로 구체화되며, 이는 단순한 경제 문제를 넘어 노인의 생활만족도 저하, 사회적 관계 단절, 자기효능감 약화로 연결된다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 경제적 배제는 물질적 빈곤을 넘어 사회적·심리적 위축을 심화시키는 핵심 요인으로 작용하였다. 둘째, 성공적 노화는 경제적 안정만으로 보장되지 않으며, 가족 및 사회적 지지, 건강 유지, 자기효능감과 같은 비경제적 요인들이 결합할 때 실질적으로 달성될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 셋째, 현행 제도는 개별 영역에 국한된 지원에 머무르고 있어, 경제·사회·심리·건강을 아우르는 통합적 접근이 필요하다는 점이 드러났다. 넷째, 성공적 노화는 개인의 삶의 질을 넘어 사회통합과 국가적 지속가능성과도 직결되므로, 정책적 차원의 투자와 다층적 대응이 필수적이라는 결론에 도달하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 경제적 배제가 노인의 성공적 노화를 저해하는 요인임을 확인하였다. 특히, 소득 불안정과 노동시장 배제가 생활만족도, 사회적 지지, 자기효능감을 약화시키는 주요 원인으로 드러났다. 따라서, 경제적 안정 보장과 사회적 지원확대가 성공적 노화를 위한 필수조건임을 결론적으로 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study is to examine how economic exclusion affects the successful aging of older adults in the context of rapid population aging and to explore practical measures to address this issue. The necessity of this research arises from the recognition that aging is not merely a demographic phenomenon but a multidimensional challenge involving economic, social, psychological, and health domains. In particular, economic exclusion is manifested through income deprivation, limited labor opportunities, and housing insecurity. These conditions not only constrain material well-being but also lead to diminished life satisfaction, weakened social relationships, and lowered self-efficacy among the elderly. The findings of this study are as follows. First, economic exclusion serves as a critical factor that exacerbates not only material poverty but also social and psychological vulnerability. Second, successful aging cannot be guaranteed solely by financial stability; rather, it requires the combined presence of family support, social networks, health maintenance, and psychological resources such as self-efficacy. Third, current institutional support remains fragmented and sector-specific, highlighting the need for an integrated approach that encompasses economic, social, psychological, and health dimensions. Fourth, successful aging is closely tied not only to the quality of individual life but also to broader goals of social cohesion and national sustainability, suggesting that policy-level investment and multi-layered interventions are indispensable. In conclusion, this study confirmed that economic exclusion is a critical factor hindering successful aging. In particular, income instability and labor market exclusion were found to weaken life satisfaction, social support, and self-efficacy. Thus, ensuring economic stability and expanding social support are essential conditions for achieving successful aging.
