국문 초록

본 연구는 설화를 중심으로 한 한국문화교재 단원의 구성 원리와 실례를 살펴 여성결혼이민자의 자녀 교육과 한국 사회 정착에 도움을 주는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 여성결혼이민자와 심층 면담을 실시하고 기존 한국어교재 및 문화 관련 교재의 내용과 구성을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 상호문화주의에 기반한 한국문화 교재 단원을 ‘바보 온달과 평강공주’를 예로 들어 제안하였다. 단원은 크게 엄마, 아빠와 자녀가 협력하여 내용을 이해하는 단계와 한국의 언어문화와 행동문화, 성취문화를 이해하고 나아가 엄마(여성결혼이민자) 나라의 문화를 한국문화와 비교해 보는 확장된 활동 단계로 구분된다. 이 연구는 한국인에게는 대중적이나 결혼이민자들에게는 낯설 수 있는 설화를 제시함으로써 자녀 교육에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 일방향적으로 한국문화만을 제시하고 있는 기존 한국문화교재와 달리 여성결혼이민자의 모국문화와 한국문화를 비교해 보는 활동을 통해 그들의 문화적 자존감과 정체성을 확립하여, 이들이 한국 사회에 건강하게 정착하는 데 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

The present study aims to educate married female immigrants’ children so that help them better integrate in the Korean society. To this end, the analysis of the composition principles of the Korean culture textbook based on folk tales and specific cases is used. Following detailed interviews with married female immigrants, the existing Korean textbooks and related Korean culture textbooks’ contents and compositions were analyzed. Based on the results, this study focuses on one unit with the overarching topic of interculturalism. The unit comes from the folk tale entitled “Foolish On-dal and Princess Pyeong-Gang”. The unit is divided into 3 stages. The first stage is to understand the content by cooperating with children’s parents. The aim of the second stage is that children understand the Korean language culture, behavioral culture, and achievement culture. Finally, in the third stage, the married female immigrants’ culture and the Korean culture are compared. This is an expanded task. This study will help to promote children education by suggesting folk tales that are unfamiliar to married immigrants. In addition, unlike the existing Korean culture textbooks that only suggest the Korean culture, through the proposed comparative activities with married female immigrant’s culture, their children’s identity can be established. The ultimate goal of the present study is to help these children successfully integrate in the Korean society.
