중국 해양사 연구의 현황과 전망

국문 초록

중국의 해양사연구는 20세기 초에 시작되었지만 지속적인 발전을 가져오지 못하였으며 1980년대에 이르러서야 본격적으로 중시를 받게 되었다. 2000년 대초 정화 하서양 600주년을 전후해 해양사 연구가 본격화되기 시작해 현재는 매년 300-400여편의 해양사 논저가 발간되고 있으며, 연구주제 또한 해양정책, 해양개발, 해상교통, 화교, 해양문화, 수중고고학 등의 분야로 확대되고 있다. 또한 해교사연구와 해양사연구, 국가항해 등의 해양사전문 학술지도 발간되고 있으며, 매년 각 해양사연구센터가 주관하는 해양사 전문 학술발표회도 꾸준히 개최되고 있다. 이렇듯 해양사는 중국학계 내에서 또 하나의 중점 연구대상으로 공인받고 있지만, 특정 대학의 연구센터나 박물관 등이 주도하고 있어 연구내용이나 연구분야가 균형적이지 못하고 기타 학과와의 공동연구도 충분하게 이루어지지 않고 있다는 점을 향후 극복되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

Maritime history research in China began in the early 20th century, but did not achieve continuous development, and it was not until the 1980s of the 20th century that it began to receive serious attention. In the early 2000s, around the 600th anniversary of the Cheng He’s voyage to South Seas, research on maritime history began in earnest. Currently, about 300 to 400 papers and books on maritime history are published every year, and research topics also expand into the fields such as maritime policy, maritime development, maritime transportation, overseas Chinese, maritime culture, and underwater archeology. In addition, academic journals specializing in maritime history, such as Studies of Maritime History(海洋史硏究), Journal of Maritime History Studies(海交史硏究), and National Maritime Research(國家海洋), are being published, and academic presentations specializing in maritime history hosted by each maritime history research center are consistently held every year. As such, maritime history is recognized as another key research subject within Chinese academia, but because it is led by research centers or museums at specific universities, the research content and research areas are not balanced, and joint research with other disciplines is not sufficiently conducted. It seems that the fact that we are not losing will have to be overcome in the future.
