퇴직연금펀드의 성과 및 펀드선택에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 금융시장에서 판매되는 퇴직연금펀드를 투자자가 직접 선택하는 E-클래스 펀드와 판매사의 상담서비스를 제공받고 투자하는 일반클래스 펀드로 구분하여 분석을 수행함으로써, 펀드를 판매하는 판매사의 역할과 퇴직연금펀드 투자자 간 특성 차이를 분석하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 판매회사가 판매한 퇴직연금펀드의 성과를 E-클래스와 일반클래스 펀드로 구분하여 측정하고, 두 그룹 사이에 성과차이가 존재하는지 확인하였다. 또한 E-클래스와 일반클래스 펀드의 투자자 사이에 퇴직연금펀드를 선택하는 요인에 차이가 있는지도 확인하였다. 본 연구의 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, E-클래스와 일반클래스 펀드 초과성과 차이는 전반적으로 유의하게 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, E-클래스 펀드 투자자와 일반클래스 펀드 투자자의 펀드선택 기준은 운용규모, 펀드연령과 같은 펀드의 특성지표에서 일부 차이점이 발견되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 퇴직연금펀드 가입자의 성과 제고를 위해, 시장에 존재하는 많은 펀드 중에 우수한 펀드를 선택할 수 있도록 퇴직연금펀드 판매회사의 리서치 역량을 보다 강화할 필요가 있다는 점을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The retirement pension funds sold in the financial market are categorized into E-class funds, in which investors directly select a fund, and general class funds, in which investors receive advice from sales companies to select a fund. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the sales companies by assessing the performance of E-class and general class funds, and the difference in the characteristics of retirement pension fund investors. The results are as follows. Firstly, the excess performance of the E-class funds over general class funds was insignificant. Secondly, differences were found in the fund selection criteria such as fund age and size between E-class and general class fund investors. The outcome of this study suggests that to improve the performance of retirement pension funds for investors, fund sales companies should strengthen their research capabilities to enhance their ability in selecting outperforming funds in the financial market.
