국문 초록

본 연구는 기업집단 소속 재무분석가의 허딩확률이 분석대상기업의 기업집단 소속여부에 따라 상이한지를 검증하고 분석대상기업이 기업집단 소속일 경우 다른 재무분석가의 이익예측에 영향을 미치는지에 관해 2000년부터 2004년까지 FndataGuide에 포함된 재무분석가가 제공한 12월 결산상장법인의 이익예측치를 이용하여 분석하였다. 실증분석결과 기업집단 소속 재무분석가는 분석대상기업이 동일기업집단일 경우 그렇지 않은 경우보다 이익예측합의치로의 허딩확률이 낮았다. 둘째, 기업집단에 소속되지 않은 재무분석가는 분석대상기업이 기업집단인 경우 그렇지 않은 경우보다 이익예측합의치로의 허딩확률이 낮은 결과를 보였다. 마지막으로 기업집단에 소속되지 않은 재무분석가는 분석대상기업이 기업집단인 경우 재무분석가의 이익예측합의치보다 동일기업집단 소속 재무분석가의 이익예측치로 허딩하는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 기업집단 소속 재무분석가는 분석대상기업이 동일기업집단 소속인 경우 재무분석가의 이익예측합의치의 영향을 적게 받으며, 다른 재무분석가의 이익예측에 영향을 미치고 있음을 의미하는 결과로 해석된다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes empirically that the earnings forecast herding of the business group affiliated analysts for the firms that are in the same business group differs from that for the firms not in the same business group and the earnings forecast of the business group affiliated analysts affects non-affiliated analysts earnings forecast using analysts earnings forecast data of FndataGuide from 2000 to 2004. According to the results, the business group affiliated analysts show a lower likelihood of earnings forecast herding for the firms that are in the same business group. Non-affiliated analysts show a lower likelihood of earnings forecast herding for the firms that are in the business group. Non-affiliated analysts herd more on the business group affiliated analysts earnings forecast than the prior consensus of analysts for the firms are in the business group. The results of this study imply that the earnings forecast of the business group affiliated analysts isn t affected by the prior consensus of analysts and affects non-affiliated analysts earnings forecast for the firms that are in the business group
