국문 초록

본 연구는 시장화 요인과 기업 내부요인이 기업의 자본구조 선택에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석했다. 연구대상 기업은 중국 상해와 심천에 상장된 기업들이며, 연구대상 기간은 2004년부터 2009년까지이다. 시장화에 관한 자료는 中国经济改革研究基金会国民经济研究所에서 발표하는 NERI Index를 사용했으며, 기업관련 자료는 중국의 Beijing Gildata RESSET Data Tech Co., Ltd.에서 제공하는 RESSET DB를 통해 입수했다. 총 7,729개 표본을 대상으로 고정효과 패널분석을 실시했다. 분석 결과, 전체적인 시장화 발전 수준이 높은 지역에 위치한 기업일수록, 그리고 법 제도적 발전 수준이 높은 지역에 위치한 기업일수록 부채비율이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 기업요인 중에서는 수익성이 높은 기업일수록 부채비율이 낮으며, 기업규모와 자산담보가치가 높은 기업일수록 부채비율이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 기업의 재무구조 관련 연구에서 다루어지지 않은 제도요인, 특히 시장화 요인의 역할을 실증 규명했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the effects of marketization and firm factors on the choice of capital structure of Chinese firms. Sample firms are publically listed firms in the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchange markets. Research periods are from 2004 to 2009. The data for marketization is the NERI index which is published by the National Economic Research Institute, China Reform. Various firm data are obtained from RESSET DB which is provided by Beijing Gildata RESSET Data Tech Co., Ltd. With 7,729 samples, fixed effect panel regression was performed. The results show that Chinese firms which operate in regions where overall marketization level is higher and legal institutional development level is higher, have lower levels of debt ratio. Among firm factors, debt ratio of Chinese firms has a negative relationship with ROA, but is has a positive relationship with firm size and collateral value of assets. This research has significance for analyzing the effect of institution factors on the choice of capital structure of Chinese firms.
