영문 초록

Ten burley varieties of Nicotiana tabacum L., 45 F₁ hybrids and 45 F₂ populations among them were evaluated at Jeonju Exp. Stn., Korea Ginseng & Tobacco Research Institute in 1985. Correlation coefficient among characters, path coefficient on yield and selection index for yield were estimated. Genotypic correlations among the characters studied were positive. Yield was highly correlated with days to flower, stalk height, leaves per plant, leaf length and leaf width. Path coefficient analysis revealed that leaf length, leaves per plant and leaf width imposed substantially high direct effects on yield, and days to flower imposed indirect effects through leaf length and leaves per plant. Expected efficiency of selection for yield was higher when days to flower and leaf length were used as selection criteria, or when leaves per plant and stalk height were added for additional criteria than when one character was used as selection criterion.
