영문 초록

The sagittal splitting ramus osteomy is now a widely used procedure in orthognathic surgery. The surgical techniques are well standardized and carry a low complication rate. Nevertheless, there are possibilities that several complications are developed postoperatively. The neurologic deficits, relapse, fracture, condylar posional changes, hemorrhage and so forth have been considered, but facial nerve paralysis and intubation granuloma are rare but serious complications. The case reports of 2 patients are presented, and the etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of these complications are discussed.
