브래너의 영화 헨리 5세에 대한 본 논문은 셰익스피어 영화사에서 이 영화가 지니는 중요성을 알아내고, 그리고 영화기 지니는 현대성을 탐구하고자 한다. 본 논문은, 영화 속의 중요한 사건들에 초점을 두고, 그것의 본질적 측면을 중점적으로 검토하며, 동시에 외적 요소도 다룬다. 이 연구를 통하여, 우리는 이 영화를 완전하게 이해하게 되었고, 영화의 분위기는 암울하며, 잔인하고, 헨리 왕은 영웅적이며 동시에 인간적 나약함을 드러내며, 그리고 이로 인해 그와 그의 병사들이 형제애로 결합되었음을 알게 되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this essay on Branagh's Henry V is to find out its importance in the history of Shakespearean movies, and also to explore the modernity of the film, which helps to impress the modern audience. Focusing on the major incidents of the film, the essay tries to examine its essential aspects, and also probe into the external elements such as closeups, flashbacks and music by Doyle. Through this study of Branagh's Henry V, we can come to have a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the film. The findings of the essay are that the general atmosphere of the film is darker and bloody than the original play by Shakespeare. And it finds that King Henry appears to be heroic as well as weak to shed tears or fall from his horse, and that the film accentuates his solidarity with his soldiers are the cores of film.
