영문 초록

In this paper, we deal with the topic ellipsis in the discourse level. We show even new information may be deleted if it is included in a real situation. We classified the data into four types according to the results of Questionnaire. ⅰ) The data with keywords which are relevant to a real situation. ⅱ) The data with keywords which are not relevant to a real situation. ⅲ) The data with general keywords, which can draw many discourse topics. ⅳ) The data with silence which induces another utterance. Keywords have a crucial role in type 1 whereas a real situation has a crucial role in type 2. Both kewords and a real situation play an important role in type 3. Type 4 is compared with the rest of types, which treat only utterances, whereas type 4 treats utterances with silence.
