국문 초록

텍스타일 디자인 분야에서 대중들에게 정보를 전달하기 위한 시각적 형태로써 패턴 디자인은 중요한 요소이다. 현대 사회는 빠르게 변화하는 소비 패턴으로 프렌드에 부합되는 다목적 패턴 디자인 개발이 요구된다. 그러나 무엇보다 중요한 것은 유행에 민감하게 변화하는 디자인에 앞서 세월이 지나도 계속 가치를 지닌 텍스타일 패턴 디자인의 개발이다. 스웨덴은 지난 세기 동안 패턴 디자인에 있어서 가장 지속적이고 창조적인 영향을 끼친 대표적인 나라 중 하나이다. 스웨덴의 텍스타일 패턴 디자인이 가장 주목을 받았던 1930~50년대의 패턴들은 시대를 초월한 디자인으로 현재까지도 생산되고 있다. 그것은 스웨덴 텍스타일 패턴 디자인이 모더니즘의 특징을 잘 대변해 주는 동시대적이고 세계적으로 쉽게 유행할 수 있는 요소가 있었기 때문이다. 한 시대를 반영하는 단순하고 기하학적 추상 형태의 스웨덴 텍스타일 패턴 디자인은 시대를 초월하는 디자인으로 평가받고 있다. 이 논문은 20세기의 패턴 디자인이라는 거대한 시대의 흐름 안에서 스웨덴의 텍스타일 패턴 디자인이 가장 주목을 받았던 시기(1930~50년대)에 초점을 맞추고 프린팅 텍스타일로 제한하여 대표적 작가 4명을 중심으로 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

In textile design, pattern design is an essential element as a visual form for communications. This modern society needs research and development of multi-purpose pattern design by the fastest growing epidemics. However, the most important thing is development of timeless invaluable textile pattern design. Sweden is the one of the countries which have made the most sustained creative impact on pattern design during the past century. In 1930~50s’ Swedish textile patterns are still produced as a timeless design. It shows that Swedish textile pattern design has main cause which is contemporary and easily popular in the world. The minimal and abstract Swedish textile pattern design is highly estimated among the world. Twentieth-century pattern is a gargantuan topic, and although I have ranged widely within this field, for practical reason I have limited myself to working within certain parameters. I have chosen to focus mainly on 1930~50s’ Swedish textile pattern design and printing textiles.
