청지각적 음성평가 훈련이 음성평가 신뢰도에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 청지각적 음성평가에 대한 지각훈련이 평가자 간 또는 평가자 내 신뢰도를 높이는 데 유용한지 알아보는 데에 있다. 방법: 본 연구는 음성장애 분야의 임상경력이 3년 이상인 음성언어장애전문가 2명과 언어병리학을 전공하고 있는 대학원생 30명이 참가하였다. 음성언어장애전문가가 모음과 문단 읽기로 구성된 60개의 샘플들을 GRBAS 척도의 중증도에 따라 분류한 뒤, 40개는 평가용, 20개는 훈련용으로 사용하였다. 훈련 전 대학원생들에게 GRBAS 척도에 대하여 각 척도별 음질특성에 대해 설명하고, 평가용 음성샘플을 GRBAS 척도로 평가하게 한 후, 훈련용 음성샘플을 이용하여 2주간 총 2회의 음성평가 훈련을 실시하였다. 훈련기간 동안 음성샘플을 들려준 후 GRBAS 척도 평가에 대한 피드백을 주었다. 훈련 후 처음 들려주었던 평가용 음성샘플로 GRBAS 척도를 재평가하게 하여 훈련전과 후를 비교하였다. 대상자의 15%에 해당하는 4명의 대학원생을 무작위로 선정하여 각 훈련 전과 훈련 후 평가용 음성을 재평가하게 하였으며, 그 결과의 상관관계를 통해 평가자 내 신뢰도를 분석하였다. 또한 훈련 전과 후의 평가자들 간 GRBAS 척도평가의 상관관계를 통해 평가자 간 신뢰도를 분석하였다. 결과: 모음과 문단에서 GRBAS 척도를 이용한 청지각적 평가훈련은 훈련 전보다 훈련 후 평가자 내와 평가자 간 신뢰도가 모두 유의미하게 상승하였다. 논의 및 결론: 음성은 다차원적이기 때문에 효율적인 음성 평가를 위해 표준적이고 일관성 있으며, 신뢰성 있는 훈련 프로그램의 개발이 시급하다. 본 연구를 통해 음성평가 훈련이 음성평가의 신뢰도를 높일 수 있다는 것이 객관적으로 밝혀졌으며, 이를 바탕으로 국내 음성평가 훈련 프로그램의 기본 모형을 마련하였다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Background & Objectives: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effect of perceptual training on the reliability of voice quality evaluation by graduate students in a speech pathology program. Methods: Sixty voice samples were selected from a database by 2 qualified SLPs. Samples included 40 test stimuli and 20 training stimuli of both sustained vowels and connected speech. Thirty graduate students in a speech pathology program were trained for 2 weeks. For training, the students were provided with the definitions of rating dimensions and perceptually evaluated 20 training stimuli with the GRBAS scale. Then, the students were given feedback on their ratings. Before and after the training, the students evaluated voice quality in 30 dysphonic voices and 10 normal voices using the GRBAS scale. A matched, paired 2-sample t-test was calculated to determine if there was a difference between pre- and post-training reliability values. Intra-rater reliability was calculated from the randomly selected 15% samples throughout the testing block. Additionally, inter-rater reliability was calculated using Intraclass correlation coefficients. Results: The pre- and post-training results were significantly different. Intra-rater reliability and inter-reliability were also significantly increased post-training. Discussion & Conclusion: Perceptual rating to evaluate voice quality is a subjective method that requires sufficient training. Therefore, the use of perceptual anchors and a perceptual training program for reliable perceptual rating should be developed.
