영문 초록

One of the essential elements in building the new smart and intelligent city, frequently called "u-city" is the technology for context awareness. In fact, the concept of context awareness is the key element for ubiquitous computing because if we want to make an "intelligent" device, the device needs to know i) where it is, and ii) what are the things that surround the device. The aim of this paper is to develop a situation-awareness algorithm based on urban event information, especially in traffic situation awareness field. To achieve this goal, this paper examines the meaning of situation awareness and its implication in the urban space. Next, this paper defines the process of converting the event information into the location and situation information. This process is then applied in the field of traffic situation awareness. Using the algorithm provided in this paper, the traffic event information can be processed into the situation information with which appropriate responses can be devised
