국문 초록

비영리단체(NPO)는 실업이 일상화된 현실에서 고용시장의 중요한 대안이다. 특히 사회적 공헌에 대한 현대 사회의 관심 증대는 NPO를 괜찮은 일자리(decent work)의 주요 출처로 보게 한다. 한편으로 NPO는 본래적 재정능력 한계로 2-30대의 전문인력의 확보에 어려움을 경험하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 양자의 관심을 접목시킬 수 있는 가능성을 모색할 필요성에서 시작되었다. NPO와 중장년 퇴직자의 연계는 NPO 차원에서의 인적 자원 확보 문제와 사회적 차원에서의 일자리 부족이라는 문제를 동시에 경감시키는 방안이 될 수 있다. 이를 위해 4-50대 중장년 퇴직자를 활용하는 것과 관련하여 NPO 쪽에서는 어떤 인식을 하고 있으며, 실제 그들을 고용하는 데 있어 어떤 장애나 제약들이 작용하는지에 대해 7개 기관의 NPO 관리자를 대상으로 질적 조사를 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 증대될 중장년층 퇴직 문제를 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 NPO 활용방안을 모색해 보게 하였다.

영문 초록

This article is about exploring options for making meaningful connections between retirees and nonprofit organizations. Surveys show that most retirees see retirement as a time to begin a new chapter in their lives by starting new activities and setting new goals. Many of them who are financially set for life want to commit and devote themselves to good work in their communities. Non-profit organizations need to offer a broad set of options for retirees who want to use their talents and experience for meaningful opportunities. The study has used the focus group interview as a way to identify rich and qualitative information on how best to utilize this newly abundant resource. The following is a list of some of the questions probed in the focus group : ways to strengthen the human resources of nonprofits, views on what retirees can contribute to their communities given their experience, the possibility of providing retirees with the opportunity to utilize their skills and experiences for nonprofits, barriers to implementing a recruitment process, etc. Several considerations are made in order to empower NPOs and help retirees who want make a transition to a new productive life phase through community connections and contributions to society.
