영문 초록

The increasing of marine traffic around the Korean waters has resulted also to increase marine casualties with the loss of human lives, damage to property and marine environmental pollution year by year. In this regards, especially this study has compiled with various data relating to marine casualties and also analyzed in detail the reasons of collision accidents between vessel to vessel in Korean waters for a period of five years data produced by the Central Office of Marine Accidents Inquiry. And additionally this paper analyzed a case-study of a collision caused by human's error as the negligence of navigational duties. At the last chapter, this paper suggests some proposals for reducing and preventing marine casualties for all vessels in the coastal area of Korean waters.
