국문 초록

연구목적: 이 글의 목적은 듀이의 철학을 통섭의 철학으로 규정하고, 그의 철학이 AI 시대의 융복합 교육에 주는 시사를 밝히는 데 있다. 연구방법: 그러므로 이 글은 듀이의 다양한 저서들을 검토하여 듀이의 철학을 통섭의 철학으로 규정할 수 있는 근거들을 도출하고, 나아가 그의 통섭 철학이 AI 시대의 융복합 교육에 주는 시사들에 대하여 고찰하였다. 연구결과: 듀이의 철학을 통섭의 철학으로 규정하는 이유는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 듀이는 모든 학문이 하나의 경험으로 통섭되어야 함을 강조했다. 둘째, 듀이는 융복합 지식의 학습이 실제적 문제해결 역량을 기르기 위한 핵심적 방법이라고 생각했다. 셋째, 듀이에게 삶이란 계속적 문제해결의 과정을 통해 경험을 통섭해 나가는 일이다. 그리고 듀이의 통섭 철학이 AI 시대 융복합 교육에 주는 시사는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 융복합 교육과 교과교육의 목적은 본질적으로 다르지 않다. 둘째, 융복합 교육은 아동의 감각과 정서의 발달을 위한 심미적 감성 역량을 강화해야 한다. 셋째, 융복합 교육은 창의성과 비판적 사고력을 계발하는 일에 중점을 두어야 한다. 마지막으로, 융복합 교육은 경험의 확장을 통해 궁극적으로 삶의 성장을 이룩하는 데 공헌해야 한다. 결론: 다양한 학문과 지식을 통섭하는 융복합 교육의 의미와 본질을 정립함으로써, 학생들에게 현대의 AI 시대를 이끌어 나갈 수 있는 실제적 역량을 길러주어야 한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the implication of Dewey’s consilience philosophy on convergence education in the age of AI. Methods: Dewey’s books defining his philosophy as a consilience philosophy and the derived implications for convergence education in the age of AI from his philosophy were examined. Results: This study found that the reasons for defining Dewey’s philosophy as a consilience philosophy are as follows. First, Dewey emphasized that all disciplines should be integrated into ‘an experience’. Second, Dewey thought that learning convergence knowledge is the most important way to develop problem-solving competence. Third, Dewey recognized that life is the accumulation of experience through the continuous process of problem-solving. Moreover, the implications of Dewey’s consilience philosophy on convergence education in the age of AI are as follows. First, the purpose of convergence education is related to pursuing the essence of subject-learning. Second, convergence education should focus on strengthening aesthetic sensitivity competency, Third, convergence education should develop creativity and critical thinking skills, which are special competencies that only humans possess. Lastly, convergence education could expand students’ lives by expanding real experience, which is never experienced in the virtual world. Conclusion: By establishing the meaning and essence of convergence education that integrates various disciplines and knowledge, students should develop practical competencies to lead the modern age of AI.
