국문 초록

인체의 기능과 건강에 있어 각종 생체 미생물의 역할과 중요성은 점점 강조되고 있다. 특히 장내 미생물에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있고, 그 외 구강, 피부, 질 미생물 등에 대한 연구도 최근 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 그 중 구강 미생물은 구강 및 각종 전신 질환의 발생과 악화에 기여하는 것으로 밝혀져 있으나, 아직 실제적인 검사와 치료법, 그리고 치료 효과에 대한 연구는 부족한 편이다. 앞으로 구강 미생물의 검사와 치료, 관리법 및 구강 위생의 중요성에 대한 임상 연구와 경험이 더 필요할 것으로 보이며, 의료인들은 구강 미생물의 중요성과 치료 효과에 대해 인지하고 기능의학적 적용에 대해 지속적으로 고민하고 연구해야 할 것으로 생각된다. 본 종설에서는 구강 미생물에 대해 지금까지 밝혀진 연구 결과들을 정리하고, 이에 대한 기능의학적 접근과 관리법에 대해 고찰해 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

The role of various human microbiota in maintaining physiological functions and health is emphasized. Especially, many studies have been conducted on gut microbiota, while research on oral, skin, and vaginal microbiota have also been actively published in recent years. Among these, oral microbiota has been identified as contributors to the onset and exacerbation of various oral and systemic diseases. However, there remains a lack of data regarding clinical diagnostic methods, therapeutic options, and the efficacy of treatments on oral microbiota. Therefore, further clinical studies and practical experience are necessary. Healthcare professionals should recognize the importance of oral microbiota on human health, while considering functional medical approaches. This article aims to review the current research findings on oral microbiota and suggest functional medical approaches and management.
