‘콘텐츠 액티비즘’으로의 디아스포라 담론 : 영화 <피부색깔=꿀색>을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 문화콘텐츠 속 ‘콘텐츠’라는 개념이 사회 속 개인 혹은 집단의 문제를 ‘인식’하는 발돋움이 되는 발판의 형태로 바라보는 것으로 시작하여, 디아스포라 콘텐츠가 어떻게 콘텐츠 액티비즘(contents activism)으로 발현될 수 있는지를 다양한 이론적 틀을 통해 분석한다. 특히 영화 <피부색깔=꿀색>(2012)을 중심으로, 디아스포라적 경험과 정체성의 재구성이 콘텐츠 액티비즘의 형태로 나타나는 과정을 탐구한다. <피부색깔=꿀색>(2012)은 감독의 자전적 다큐멘터리로 한국전쟁 이후 벨기에로 입양된 한국인 고아의 이야기를 통해, 이주자들이 겪는 정체성 혼란, 사회적 소외감, 그리고 문화적 충돌을 강렬하게 묘사한다. 필자는 이러한 디아스포라 서사는 단순한 개인적 서사를 넘어, 전 세계 이주자들이 겪는 공통된 문제를 조명하고, 사회적 인식과 연대를 이끌어내는 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다고 보았다. 본 연구는 헨리 젠킨스의 참여문화, 피에르 부르디외의 문화자본, 주디스 버틀러의 수행성 등의 사회문화적 이론들을 바탕으로, 디아스포라 콘텐츠가 정체성의 재구성, 문화적 저항, 그리고 글로벌 공론장을 형성하는 강력한 도구로 작용함을 논의한다. 이를 통해 디아스포라 서사는 사회적 변화와 공감 형성을 촉진하는 콘텐츠 액티비즘의 중요한 수단으로 자리잡을 수 있음을 강조하고자 함이다.

영문 초록

This study begins by examining the concept of 'content' within cultural content as a foundation for recognizing issues faced by individuals or groups in society, and analyzes how diaspora content can manifest as Content Activism through various theoretical frameworks. Focusing particularly on the film Approved for Adoption (Couleur de Peau: Miel), this study explores the process by which diasporic experiences and the reconstruction of identity emerge as a form of content activism. Approved for Adoption is an autobiographical documentary by the director, depicting the story of a Korean war orphan who was adopted to Belgium. The film vividly portrays the identity confusion, social alienation, and cultural conflict experienced by migrants. I argue that this diasporic narrative goes beyond a personal story to shed light on the common issues faced by migrants worldwide, playing a crucial role in raising social awareness and fostering solidarity. This study discusses how diaspora content, based on social and cultural theories such as Henry Jenkins' Participatory Culture, Pierre Bourdieu's Cultural Capital, Judith Butler's Performativity, and Jürgen Habermas' Public Sphere, functions as a powerful tool in the reformation of identity, cultural resistance, and the creation of a global public sphere. Through this, I aim to emphasize that diasporic narratives can serve as a significant means of content activism, promoting social change and empathy formation.
