국문 초록

이 논문에서는 1918년 막심 고리키가 번역된 세계 문학을 홍보하기 위해 설립한 소련 출판사 ‘프세미르나야 리테라투라(세계 문학)’의 직원들이 작성한 풍자적 차스투시카를 분석한다. 이 기관은 저명한 작가와 학자들을 한데 모아 전시 공산주의와 초기 NEP의 어려운 시기에 협력적인 창작 환경을 유지했다. 1921년 후반에 제작된 차스투시카는 고리키 자신을 포함한 주요 인물들의 퇴장을 유머러스하게 기록했으며, 편집 집단의 해체를 상징적으로 보여준다. 이 시는 유머러스한 어조에도 불구하고 이민, 제도적 쇠퇴, 혁명적 격변이 러시아 문화 지식인들에게 미친 정서적 피해에 대한 깊은 불안감을 드러낸다. R. V. 루라, F. A. 브라운, A. 야. 레빈손과 같은 실존 인물에 대한 언급을 검토함으로써, 이 논문은 초기 소비에트 지식인들이 어떻게 혁명적 격변을 겪었는지 보여준다. 아울러 이 논문에서는 민속적이고 “국내적인” 문학 형식이 출판사의 내부 역학 관계를 어떻게 기록하는지 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 차스투시카는 문학적 유물이자 초기 소비에트 러시아의 지식인 공동체가 경험한 사회적, 문화적 붕괴를 이해하는 데 중요한 1차 자료로 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

This article analyzes a satirical chastushka created by an anonymous employee of the publishing house Vsemirnaya literatura (“World Literature”)—a cultural and educational project organized by Maxim Gorky in 1918. The publishing house brought together Petrograd’s artistic forces and supported the intelligentsia during the Civil War. Its goal was to introduce Soviet readers to masterpieces of world literature and contemporary literary trends. Dated to late 1921, the chastushka humorously reflects changes in the publisher’s personnel, including the departure of key figures—Gorky among them—from Soviet Russia. Despite its playful form, the text conveys the emotional distress associated with the disintegration of the editorial team and the broader cultural crisis. By reconstructing the biographies of the real individuals encoded in the text, the author reveals the connection between historical context and creative expression. The chastushka is treated as both a literary artifact and a valuable primary source for understanding the social and cultural disintegration experienced by the early Soviet intelligentsia.
