국문 초록
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to analyze in depth the attention of international investment to various economic indicators and the impact on the investment environment of different types of exporting countries under different investment groupings, so as to provide new theoretical perspectives and practical guidance for the field of international investment.
Design/Methodology – This study integrates the methods of literature review, data analysis and case study. The literature review summarizes the research results in related fields and lays the theoretical foundation for the study. The data analysis quantifies the economic indicators and investment environment under each portfolio by collecting and processing a large amount of data. The case study selects Japan, Vietnam, China, and South Korea as representatives, and applies the dynamic QCA method to analyze the coverage of the four countries in the international investment portfolio during 2013-2022. It explores the reasons and mechanisms behind the findings.
Findings – The study found that GDP, as a core indicator of economic strength, was highly valued across subgroups. However, the importance of the import index, export index, national stability index, and labor force size varies. Japan dominates Subgroups 1 and 4 by virtue of its export capacity and political and economic stability. Vietnam’s comparative advantage in terms of labor force size is prominent in Subgroup 2. China's position as a diversified exporter is evident in Subgroup 3. The Republic of Korea demonstrates economic flexibility and diversification in some subgroups.
Originality/value – This study provides new theoretical perspectives and enriches research results in the field of international investment, helps policymakers and investors understand the complex mechanism of international investment decision-making more comprehensively, provides useful references for countries to optimize the investment environment and attract FDI, and sheds light on the formulation of targeted foreign investment policies.
