국문 초록

본 연구는 ｢청년과 정신건강｣ 교양필수 교과목의 운영 사례를 분석하여, 정신건강 리터러시(Mental Health Literacy)에 기반한 대학 교양교육의 실제적 효과와 교육적 가능성을 탐색하였다. 본 과목은청년기 우울, 불안, 스트레스, 자살 등 정신건강 문제의 심각성을 반영하여 개발되었으며, 정신건강의이해에서 실천으로 확장되는 13개 주제의 프로젝트형 수업으로 구성되었다. 수업은 학생 참여를 극대화하기 위해 소규모 팀 프로젝트, 워크시트 작성, 퀴즈 풀이, 동영상 제작 등 다양한 참여형 활동을 포함하였으며, 학습자들이 주체적으로 몰입할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 강의평가 결과, 해당 교과목은 전반적인수업 만족도에서 높은 평가를 받았으며, 이는 교수자의 역량뿐 아니라 학습자의 내적 동기와 정신건강에대한 관심이 수업 효과를 증진시킨 결과로 해석된다. 나아가 LMS(사이버캠퍼스)를 활용한 자료 공유, 피드백, 자가 평가 등의 디지털 교수학습 설계는 자기주도성과 상호작용성을 결합한 현대적 교양교육모델로 작용하였고, 텍스트마이닝 분석을 통해 학습자들이 정신건강 개념을 병리 중심에서 성장 중심으로 재구성해 나가는 인식 전환이 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 ｢청년과 정신건강｣ 교과목이 지식 전달을넘어 자기성찰과 실천적 태도 함양, 나아가 정신건강의 사회적 의제화를 촉진하는 고등교육의 통합적교양교육 모델임을 보여준다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the case of the general education course Youth and Mental Health to explore the practical effects and educational potential of university-level liberal arts education based on Mental Health Literacy(MHL). Developed in response to the growing prevalence of youth mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and suicide, the course was designed around thirteen themes that connected theoretical understanding with practical application through project-based learning. To maximize student engagement, the course incorporated small-group projects, worksheets, quizzes, and video production activities, enabling learners to participate actively and reflectively. Course evaluations indicated high overall satisfaction, suggesting that the effectiveness of the class derived not only from the instructor’s competence but also from students’ intrinsic motivation and interest in mental health. Moreover, the digital learning design utilizing the LMS platform for resource sharing, feedback, and self-assessment functioned as a modern liberal arts model combining autonomy and interaction. Text-mining analysis further revealed a perceptual shift among students, from a pathology-centered to a growthoriented understanding of mental health. These results demonstrate that the Youth and Mental Health course transcends knowledge transmission to foster self-reflection, practical attitudes, and the social contextualization of mental health within higher education.
