국문 초록

불확실성이 높은 현대 사회에서의 창의성 교육에는 실패 경험을 학습 자산으로 전환하는 전략적접근이 요구된다. 본 연구는 지능적 실패(Intelligent Failure) 개념을 토대로 창의적 실패교육 프로그램을개발하고, 이를 대학 교양 과목에 적용하여 교육적 효과를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 개발된 프로그램은 창의성과 실패교육에 관한 이론적 고찰을 통해 도출한 여섯 가지 개발 기준을 바탕으로 ‘이론-전환- 실행’의 3단계로 구성되었으며, 창의성 관련 교양 수업을 수강한 28명의 학생을 대상으로 7주간 운영되었다. 학생들의 자기평가 자료에 대한 질적 분석 결과, 참여자들은 실패를 학습과 성장을 위한 전략적시도로 인식하게 되었으며, 이에 따라 실패에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 변화하였다. 또한 실패 경험의공유 가치와 협업의 중요성을 자각하고, 실패를 창의적 문제 해결 과정의 핵심 요소로 수용하게 되었다. 또한 의도적으로 실패를 설계하고 실행하는 과정을 통해 자신감과 도전 의지가 향상되었음을 보고하였다. 이러한 결과는 창의성 교육에 실패교육 요소를 체계적으로 통합함으로써 학생들의 창의적 역량과성장 마인드셋을 함양할 수 있음을 시사한다. 특히 학습자가 의도적인 실패 경험을 실천함으로써 창의성과 실패 간의 긍정적 관계를 직접 체험하고, 실패 경험의 공유와 성찰을 구조화된 방식으로 경험할수 있도록 하는 교육안을 개발하였다는 점에서, 본 연구는 실패의 교육적 활용 가능성을 확장했다는의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

In an era of increasing uncertainty, creativity education demands a strategic approach that transforms failure experiences into valuable learning assets. This study aims to develop a creative failure education program based on the concept of Intelligent Failureand to examine its educational effectiveness through application in a liberal arts course at the university level. The program was structured into three stages—Theory, Transition, and Practice—guided by six development criteria derived from theoretical review. It was implemented over seven weeks with 28 students enrolled in a creativity-related liberal arts course. A qualitative analysis of students’ self-evaluation data revealed a positive shift in their perceptions of failure, as they came to view it as a strategic opportunity for learning and growth. Participants also recognized the value of sharing failure experiences and the importance of collaboration, ultimately accepting failure as a core component of creative problem-solving processes. Furthermore, through the intentional design and execution of failure scenarios, students reported increased confidence and willingness to take on challenges. These findings suggest that the systematic integration of failure-based learning into creativity education can foster students’ creative competencies and growth mindsets. Notably, by enabling students to actively experience the constructive relationship between creativity and failure, and by structuring opportunities for sharing and reflecting on failures, this study highlights new possibilities for leveraging failure as an educational resource.
